Level I Kodály Certification Course

Course Description:

Level I participants are introduced to motivating materials and techniques for building music literacy in kindergarten through second grade. Course topics include methodology, musicianship, sol-fa and hand signs, conducting techniques, score reading, literature for the children’s choir, folk song collection and analysis, national standards, entry points, and approaches to measurement and evaluation. Participants receive copies of curriculum plans, lesson plans, songs, games and materials.

Dates: July 19 (Workshop) and July 21 -August 1, 2008 (Level I Course)

Level I may be taken for 5 hours of graduate credit
